Switch On Summer
Switch on Summer is a family event partnering with the Chicago Park District to mark the beginning of summer and the first day that the Buckingham fountain is switched on. The event is in it’s third year. Opportunities for public engagement include a “Battle of the Bands” contest, and a social media contest for the opportunity to “switch on” the fountain with a giant light switch. Booths and activities for further engagement feature a wide variety of sponsors ranging from Chicago museums and cultural institutions to sports (Chicago Blackhawks) and beverages (Diet Coke). My team is responsible for brainstorming engagement concepts and all branded elements, such as signage, stage design, print ads, emails, radio, social posts and banner ads.
